1.66% (+5,996 hectares); of which, the paddy cultivation area reached
332,767 hectares (excluding the 2022-2023 the monsoon paddy and the
winter-spring crop in 2022-2023), sharing 90.38% of the total cultivated
area, a surge of 1.51% (+4,941 hectares); the planted area of some other
annual crops reached 35,427 hectares, made up 9.62% of the total
planted area, an increase of 3.07% (+1,055 hectares).
Perennial crops: The total area of perennial crops reached 44,042
hectares; of which, the area of fruit trees reached 28,443 hectares. Some
crops witnessed a stable growth and large production area e.g. mango 2.7
thousand hectares, banana 9,000 hectares, orange 1.5 thousand hectares,
pomelo 2 thousand hectares, durian 987 hectares, star apple 1,680 hectares.
Livestock: In 2022, the livestock production witnessed a stability,
epidemics on livestock and poultry was reported to occur on a small
scale, however, thanks to a timely detection and quick response of the
local authorities, the epidemics were controlled to avoid the spread.
- The buffalo population in the province reached 2,373 heads, a
year-on-year drop of 6.94% (-177 heads).
- The cattle population of the province reached 54,479 heads, a year-
on-year growth of 1.87% (+1,002 heads).
There were 5/11 districts in the province raising dairy cows with
6,300 heads, a year-on-year decline of 6.12% (-411 heads). The dairy
cow population saw a decline mainly in small-scale farming households
due to low economic efficiency (a stagnant of milk price, but the
escalation of inputs price).
- Pig farming in the province saw a stability, the pig population saw
a recovery, the epidemics on pig was detected in some areas but timely
under control. The total pig population in the province reached 170,870
heads, a year-on-year growth of 25.09% (+34,268 heads).
- The poultry population in the province reached 6,430 thousand
heads, a year-on-year drop of 11.99% (-876 thousand heads).
