5.2. Forestry
The area of newly concentrated planted forest reached 766.4
hectares in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 10.84% (+75 hectares).

Wood production reached 99,362 m , a year-on-year surge of 14.01%

(+12,211 m ). Firewood production reached 81,040 ste, a year-on-year
decline of 1.25% (-1,024 ste). The number of scattered planted forestry
reached 1,350 thousand trees, a year-on-year decline of 3.36% (-47
thousand trees).
5.3. Fishery
Fishery production reached 359,092 tons in 2022, a year-on-year
growth of 2.41% (+8,450 tons), of which: the capture fishery production
was 71,112 tons and the aquaculture production was 287,980 tons.
In terms of product categories: Shrimp production gained 196,131
tons, a year-on-year decline of 1.40% (-2,777 tons); fish production
achieved 139,499 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.13% (-180 tons);
production of other fishery products was 23,462 tons, a double increase
(a growth of 11,407 tons).
Aquaculture area reached 73,025 hectares in 2022, a year-on-year
rise of 1.05% (+759 hectares). By types of fishery: shrimp farming area
was 53,297 hectares, a surge of 2.92% (+1,514 hectares), fish farming
area was 17,395 hectares, a decline of 4.37% (-794 ha), other aquaculture
area was 2,333 ha, a growth of 1.7% (+39 ha) over the previous year.
6. Industry
In 2022, the industrial production activities in the province was
forecasted to grow strongly, the seafood processing enterprises for export
boosted its production in order to compensate for the signed orders in
2021 (due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic). In the first months
of 2022, the industrial production activities in the province witnessed a
steady increase. In 2022, the year-on-year industrial production index
(IIP) in the first quarter, the second quarter soared by 12.36%; and
