8.27%; respectively and the IIP in the first 6 months rose by 9.97% over
                        the same period last year.

At the end of the second quarter in 2022, the industrial production
activities in the province exposed the signs of downturn due to a decrease
in the seafood processing activity (accounting for over 80% of the output
of the whole industry). Annually, the shrimp production and export
reached the peak in the third quarter because the main shrimp import

markets such as the United States, the EU, etc., accumulated
commodities to celebrate Christmas and New Year. However, the shrimp
processing enterprises for export in the province encountered numerous
difficulties in terms of markets, sources of raw materials in 2022... (high
freight fares, global supply chain disruption due to the Russia - Ukraine

conflict, the high rising inflation in European countries and United
States) led to a decrease in the supply sources of many foods and a high
increase in the price of consumed shrimp in these countries, resulting in a
fall in consumption demand and orders. Additionally, in the US market,
Vietnamese shrimp had to compete against the cheap shrimp from India
and Ecuador, the non-tax anti-dumping shrimp from Indonesia), which
had strong impacts on shrimp production and processing for export in

particular and the whole industry in the province in general.

In 2022, the index of industrial production (IIP) rose by 5.09%
compared to that in 2021. Of which: (1) the manufacturing added up
4.6% (the manufacture of food products (up 4.05%); the manufacture of
wearing apparel (up 40.78%); the manufacture of wood and products of
wood and cock, the manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting material
                        (up 40.56%); printing and reproduction of records of all kinds doubled;
the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (up 85.75%); the

manufacture of rubber and plastic products (up 88.21%); the manufacture
of other non-metallic mineral products (up 31.21%)...); (2) electricity,
gas, steam and air-conditioning supply soared by 18.09%; (3) water
