enterprises had to compete against cheap shrimp and non-tax anti-dumping
shrimp from other countries, which had huge impact on shrimp production
and processing for export in the province.

The value of goods exports in 2022 reached 1,516 million USD, a
year-on-year increase of 17.61%.

The value of goods imports in 2022 achieved 231 million USD, a
year-on-year decline of 21.69%.

7.2. Transportation

Transport activities in the province in 2022 generally witnessed a
favorable development. Road traffic recorded a remarkable development
thanks to the increasing investment in infrastructure by the State and
convenient transport network connected provinces. Transport enterprises
also consecutively improved their service quality and set-up flexible

prices to meet the needs of passenger transportation and freight in the
province. Regarding inland waterways transport, passengers were carried
mainly by ferries in riverside passenger water terminals in different
tonnages, the number of passengers carried recorded high volume on the
occasions of festivals, Tet holiday and school year; meanwhile the
volume of freight carried witnessed an increase during harvest season of
agricultural products etc.

In 2022, the turnover of passenger and freight transport, storage and
transport supporting services reached 1,804 billion VND, a year-on-year
increase of 48.23% (of which, the turnover of passenger transport was

696 billion VND, rose by 112.34%; the turnover of freight transport was
931 billion VND, increased by 25.31%; the revenue of storage and
transport supporting services was 177 billion VND, up 21%).

- Passenger and freight transport

In 2022, the number of passengers carried was 22,956 thousand
passengers, nearly 2 times higher than the previous year’s figure (of
which, passenger transport by road was 21,003, nearly 2 times higher). In
2022, the volume of freight transport reached 40,993 thous. tonnes, a
