8. Social issues

                            8.1. People living standards, employment and social policies

                            The  average  population  of  Soc  Trang  province  in  2022  was
                        estimated  at  1,197,823  persons.  Of  which,  the  urban  population  was
                        405,650  persons,  accounting  for  33.87%;  the  rural  population  was
                        792,173 persons, sharing 66.13%; the male and female population were
                        606,396  persons  and  591,427  persons,  accounting  for  50.62%  and

                        49.38%, respectively.
                            The  province's  labor  force  aged  15  years  and  over  in  2022  was
                        625,647 persons, an increase of 1.88% over the previous year (+11,547

                        persons). Of which, the labor force in urban areas was 207,565 persons,
                        making up 33.18%; the rural area was 418,082 persons, representing for
                        66.82%.  The  male  and  female  labor  force  were  372,408  persons  and
                        253,239 persons, accounting for 59.52% and 40.48% of the total labor
                        force in the province.  The employed labor force was 607,230 persons,

                        accounting for 97.06% of the total labor force.
                            Employment  consultancy  and  job  creation:  In  2022,  the  province
                        organized  to  provide  consultation  on  domestic  and  oversea  jobs  for

                        13,567  employees,  organized  33  job  transaction  sessions,  received  and
                        proceeded    12,987    application    forms    requesting   for   getting
                        unemployment  benefits.  Job  creation  was  made  for  30,028  employees
                        (reaching 109.19% over the plan); of which, there were 228 contracted
                        oversea workers (reaching 103.64% over the plan).

                            In 2022, the pandemic was basically under control, production was
                        run normally again,  along with social  security guaranteed, the people's
                        lives were partly improved. According to the results from the Viet Nam

                        Living Standards Survey in 2022, the monthly income per capita in 2022
                        at  current  prices  reached  3,824  million  VND,  an  increase  of  578
                        thousand VND compared to that in 2021.

                            During the year, the province provided regular social protection for
                        45,198 beneficiaries with the realized budget of nearly 200 billion VND;
