performance under the Eighth culture, sports, and tourism festival of the
Khmer people in Soc Trang province in 2022, and art program in the
Ork Ambok Festival - the 5th Ngo (Khmer boat) race Soc Trang,
Mekong Delta region in 2022. The provincial team participated in "the

2021 National Festival of Singing, Dance and Music” Contest phase 2
in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province (awarded 01 gold medal, 01
silver medal, and 01 bronze medal and 01 Certificate of Merit of the
Vietnam Composers Association). The provincial culture, sports, and
communication sector coordinated with Soc Trang Radio and
Television Station to record 03 music and dance programs dedicated to
the Khmer people.

Physical training and mass sport recorded its promotion and

improvement and many mass sports activities were organized.
8.5. Traffic accidents and fire and explosion

Traffic accidents (according to the Provincial Traffic Safety Board):

in 2022, there were 218 traffic accidents occurred in the province, left 125
dead and 186 wounded. Compared to the figures of last year; the number
of traffic accidents rose by 92 incidents; number of death increased by 33
persons; and number of wounded increased by 90 persons.

Disaster-induced losses: In 2022, there were 34 thunderstorms
and tornadoes; 41 landslides; and the total value of loss was 78,545
million VND.

Fire and explosion: In 2022, there were 04 fire and explosion
incidents across the province (increased 01 incident compared to the
previous year). The total value of loss was 6,502 million VND.

9. In summary

The socio-economic performance in 2022 in Soc Trang achieved
some positive results: the sowing area and production of paddy, and
production of annual industrial crops were implemented as planned, the

consumption of paddy was relatively favorable, the price of paddy
